That was the last conversation I had with my friend, John.

We were supposed to meet up for dinner in Shibuya the next day but he didn't show up even two hours past the meeting time.
He didn't text or call either, which wasn't unusual for him so I decided to go home thinking he must have fallen asleep or something.

The next day, I still didn't hear from him. The day after that, still no reply.
After two and a half weeks passed and I started reciving worried texts from our mutual friends that said they hadn't been able to reach John for weeks.
At this point, my anger of being stood up was taken over by a stronger feeling of panic and fear.

That was around the time the missing report was filed in and things started getting serious. His family came all the way from the states to give out fliers and a frantic search for John continued for six months.
