今日勉強した英文でわからないものが２つあるので教えてください。
まず、
Sam was all by himself on the mountain trail.
all by himselfは独力で、on the mountain trailが山道で、という意味だと思うのですが、サムは独力で山道を抜けた。というような解釈でいいんでしょうか？
もう一つ、
I think the car has had it. It wouldn't start this morning.
has had itがよくわかりません。

どちらの英文もリスニング用の特に文脈のない一文です。
