「こうした人々や場所との繋がりがわかると、歴史的な話題もずっと身近なものになる。」
という日本語を

「You can understand historical topics much more by finding out connections of these people and places.」
と英作したのですが、どなたか添削お願いします…
意訳しすぎでしょうか？
