In my own experience, I've seen most of guys who write long in
Japanese are actually good at thinking and well-read,
as a result of a lot of reading at least in Japanese. Some of them may not
be perfect in English, but at least they're fairly good at
communicating in Japanese. And if those same people tend to
visit this kind of website frequently, it usually means they're serious
in learning English. Most probably many of them are already very good
at English.

By the way, you wrote: "long sentences." Most Japanese tend to
put it that way. But I think it's awkwardly put. It's actually wrong.
You actually mean something like "long comments," not long sentences.
A sentence means a piece of text between periods. People who write
very long sentences may write very short comments.
