最初に衰えたあとは、もう栄えることはない。)

そうだとすると、ここでも先行詞が複数なのに関係代名詞節の動詞が単数形（was）になってしまいますが、
これも主語-動詞間と同様、昔の文ではよくあることなんでしょうか？
