For a long time, Japanese students have studied English by translating it into Japanese. In contrast, foreign English schools prohibit students from using English-Japanese dictionaries and make them consult English-English dictionaries. This is because communicating in English does not necessarily require translation, and sometimes it can be an obstacle. Therefore, Japanese people should avoid using English-Japanese dictionaries when reading English books.
