It looks like the Mariners may activate Ben Gamel from the DL today,
which means you have to ask: Is this the end of the line for Ichiro Suzuki?
In 32 plate appearances he's hit .219/.219/.219 -- that's no extra-base hits,
no walks. When he has played, he's even been replaced on defense by Guillermo Heredia.
The Mariners are currently carrying 13 pitches, so it's possible they send down a reliever
(Wade LeBlanc went 13 days between appearances),
but the only value Ichiro really brings at this point is sentimental.
