The first half is tough, both because it takes a while to get to the good stuff
and because Eddie Brock (Hardy) is introduced as the dumbest investigative reporter you’ve ever seen.

Despite having a reputation as an ace journalist,
his only onscreen detective work involves stealing an email from his fiancee’s computer
(which gets her fired from her law firm) and asking slanderous questions to the film’s villain
despite having little-to-no-evidence to back it up.

It’s about an hour into the movie before we get what we came for (Venom being Venom),
