We are updating our legal terms and conditions; effective August 10, 2023
Ahoy!
You are receiving this email because you are using Authy's 2-Factor Authentication mobile application also known as the Authy App.

We want to let you know that we updated some of our terms and conditions that govern your use of the Authy App. We encourage you to review all the updated terms and conditions below carefully.

We updated our Authy App Terms, so they are clearer and easier to read. None of these clarification updates were material in nature. The only material update we made was to Section 11, where we will now notify you of any material updates to our Authy App Terms at least 30 days’ in advance in most cases. As a reminder, your use of the Authy App is subject to our Authy App Terms.

We also updated our Authy Privacy Notice, which forms part of our Authy App Terms, such that it is being replaced and merged with our general Privacy Notice. Additionally, we made the following changes to our general Privacy Notice that apply to the Authy App:

We clarified that we do not sell your personal information to, or share your information with, third parties for cross-context behavior advertising.
We clarified that you have the ability to opt out of marketing communications from Twilio via updating your communication preferences using an online form.
If you are in the United States of America, we clarified the requests you can make to Twilio if you would like more information about Twilio’s use of Customer Account Data or Customer Usage Data.
We added recommended protective measures and guidelines for using the Authy App on a mobile device, as well as steps to take if your mobile device is lost or stolen.
We moved the process for handling disputes relating to Twilio’s data protection practices to a separate page that is available at https://www.twilio.com/legal/privacy/disputes.
Finally, we updated our Acceptable Use Policy, which also forms part of our Authy App Terms, to clarify that you are prohibited from using the Authy App in a manner that violates telecommunications providers’ guidelines or requirements.

The updated terms and conditions above will automatically be binding and effective on August 10, 2023. No further action is required on your part. Your continued use of the Authy App constitutes your acceptance of these updated terms and conditions.
