今日のCNNの見出しなんですが、
Foreign minister says Iran hopes to avoid conflict, but "won't blink to defend our territory" in response to a US or Saudi strike.
の
「in response to a US or Saudi strike」は直訳すると「アメリカやサウジ爆撃に応答して」なのですが、
爆撃されたのはサウジであってアメリカはそれをイランのせいにしているという状態です。
この直訳だと意味が通らないのでずかどういう意味なのでしょうか？
