またまた初歩の質問で恐縮です。
関係代名詞と現在分詞についてですが、

読んでいる児童書に、
1，They took the narrow stairs that led up to the top of the dome.
2，At one end was a platform leading out to a large crane.
の2つの表現が出てきたのですが、1は関係代名詞, 2は分詞を使っています。

1の文を They took the narrow stairs LEADING up to the top of the dome. 、2の文を At one end was a platform THAT LED out to a large crane. としても同じ事を意味しますでしょうか？
