I believe that inequality is unavoidable in capitalist societies. Capitalist societies are formed based on competition, unlike communist societies where private properties are shared by others. Therefore, citizens are required to earn money as laborers. However, people’s starting line differs from person to person.
Most citizens want to become successful, but their bases vary from person to person. For example, if a person is born in a rich family in a wealthy country, the person can be well educated and are given more opportunities to work for successful companies. On the other hand, if another person is born in a poor country in a poor nation, the person may be destined to be poor since he cannot go to school and has to continue to beg money.
In this manner, in capitalist societies, people are in many cases destined to be successful or unsuccessful depending on the wealth of their families and nations. Starting line is different from person to person. Therefore, I believe inequality is natural in capitalist societies. 0356名無しさん@英語勉強中 (ワッチョイ 5e23-lymk)2019/02/24(日) 17:57:42.67ID:2pIkjJjg0 >if another person is born in a poor country in a poor nation,
I think it is unavoidable •In capitalist society strong people are those who have money, so such strong people can change the society in a way they like •Those who have money can educate their children and such children can go to good universities and when they are grown up they become rich, so this cycle continues
Why do you think the degree of inequality varies among countries? →because some countries have financial support to poor people, while other countries don’t have it
みたいな質問 →I think so. This is apparent when you look at the current system of the university entrance exam. Those students who have rich parents can go to cram school and learn subjects more effectively and go to a good university, while students who have poor parents cannot go to such additional schools.
Does Japan have a good education system? →I don’t think so(?). In Japan even poor people can go to university, but sometimes they have to borrow money from some institution. And they have to struggle hard to pay back the money they borrowed during the period of university (?) so it is a really heavy burden on them. So it is a problem(?)

I agree with the idea for the following two reasons. Firstly, in capitalist society, rich people have many chances to earn much money through investment, such as buying stocks. However, poor people cannot try to do that because they have not enough money to invest. Many of them would remain poor. Secondly, in capitalism, you have no duty to support people economically. Wealthy people are usually not criticized even if they refuse to spend their money on helping poor people. Only few people try to solve the problem of inequality because ignoring poverty is to some extent accepted in capitalism. For the two reasons I mentioned, I believe that inequality is inevitable in capitalist society.
