韓国で、活動家らが日本メディアの支局に不法侵入する事件が相次ぎ、韓国に駐在する外国人特派員で作るソウル外信記者クラブは、「暴力による脅しは適切ではない」と憂慮する声明を出した。

韓国では、日本政府による輸出優遇措置の撤廃以降、18日に産経新聞ソウル支局に、25日には、フジテレビソウル支局に活動家らが侵入し、報道内容に抗議する事件が起きている。

ソウル外信記者クラブは31日、日本メディアを狙って活動を妨害していることに懸念を表明し、「韓国当局が全ての外国メディアの報道する権利を引き続き守ると確信している」との声明を発表した。

SFCC(ソウル外信記者クラブ)は、最近、活動家が多くの日本のメディアを狙って、その施設に侵入し、活動を妨害していることに懸念を表明します。

全ての市民は現下の情勢について意見を表明する権利を有します。 しかし、暴力による脅しは適切ではなく、また、国籍を問わず、民間のメディアは自国の政府を代表しているものではありません。

SFCCは、これらの案件に警察が迅速に対応したことを評価し、韓国当局が引き続きすべての外国メディアの報道の権利を擁護すると確信しています。

The Seoul Foreign Correspondents’ Club expresses its concern that protestors have targeted a number of Japanese media bureaus in recent days, invading their premises and disrupting their operations.

Citizens have a right to express their views on current issues. But threats of violence are not appropriate and private media organisations - of whatever nationality - are not representatives of their home countries’ governments.

The SFCC appreciates the prompt attendance of police at such incidents and trusts that South Korean authorities will continue to defend the right to report for all foreign media organisations.
