As a photographer, I know the power even one image can have and have tried to use my skills to bring awareness to different issues.
I’ve been involved with animal rights campaigns for just under a decade including greyhound racing, horse racing and helping at my local animal shelter.
When there is a need I can’t help but put my hand up.
After a good friend told me about her experience with Sea Shepherd and going on multiple campaigns I started to consider doing it myself.
She advised me they were having trouble getting people on the ground and Taiji and I happened to be able to have that time off work, so within a few weeks my bags were packed and I was on my way.
It is heartbreaking to document as the dolphins are captured and slaughtered but without being here there would be no evidence of what is still going on.
While I’ve not been a long-standing member of Sea Shepherd they took me in and gave me all the support and information I needed.
I will never regret my time here in Taiji.
