A city of central Honshu, Japan, at the head of Ise Bay east of Kyoto. A fortress town in the 1500s, it was rebuilt after heavy bombing in World War II.

本州中部、京都の東にある伊勢湾の突端にある都市。1500年代には要塞都市であったが、第二次世界大戦で大空襲を受け、再建された。
