元のスレが雑談を歓迎しないスタンスで、「感想は長すぎず、短すぎず」
などの縛りもあるので、もっと自由な書き込みがしたくて、こちらを
起ててみました。
（ただし、現在、元のスレはほぼ休止状態のようです。
もう次回から派生スレとか【別室】とことわる必要はないかもしれません）

Shizuma Shigematu, who lived in Kobatake village of Hiroshima Prefecture, felt these days
something like guilty to his niece, Yasuko. He had a premonition that this feeling will last not
only now but also for long times from now. It was like heavy layers of the feeling guilty were
piling up on top of another in his heart every days.

For him, what caused of this feeling was very clear and simple. It was prevailed villager’s
baseless and irresponsive rumors about his niece Yasuko, for that make Yasuko’s match-making
always failed.
Rumors said, at the near end of the Pacific War, Yasuko was a student of Hiroshima second
junior high school, and, they said, served as a voluntary girls units for war effort, worked at
cooking section, somewhere in Hiroshima city. (続き）
So they rumored, Yasuko was contaminated by radioactivity, and she was a atomic disease
patient. Mr. and Mrs. Shizuma kept that fact secret, and tried to arrange her marriage many
times. They rumored,and the person who came to village to check up her record, once knew
the rumor immediately went away. Thus she could not marry.
August 6,1945, when the first atomic bomb fell on Hiroshima, student of Hiroshima junior high
school, organized the patriotic labor unit, received morning lecture from instructor, on the
bridge which was somewhere of the center of Hiroshima city. At that instant, their whole
bodies were burned up terribly. The head teacher ordered let sing in chorus of “(if we are)
Going on the sea”, Japanese navies ritual song, play with pianissimo. Singing “willing to die,
on the sea, on the land, for the emperor”. When the song was over, head teacher dismissed,
then took the lead to jump off the bridge into the liver at high tide. All students followed him.
Only one student barely survived. From him, they knew what was happening that day. He

There was a person who voluntary served National Labor unit from Kobatake village at that
times, came back after War, with the news what happened at Hiroshima as Atomic bomb
felled in, soon spread all over the villagers. Yasuko’s rumor in it. However, Yasuko had never
served voluntary unit, nor attended Second Junior high, so it is completely unconnected.
Even if it is true, cooking section could not had worked with that labor unit on bridge site.
In fact, Yasuko had worked Huruichi factory of Japan Textile Inc. at that time. She was
appointed in charge of transmission and reception to Fuji factory chief. Japan Textile Inc.
and Hiroshima junior high school were unrelated.
At fast, Shigematu wanted to know who was the origin spreading such rumor first. At that
time, Mr and Mrs. Shigematu were in Hiroshima. Yasuko was also in there. Other person
were Voluntary Labor Corps young men, and Serving Unit .
Voluntary Labor Corps was the organization aimed to demolition of Japanese wooden houses
in Hiroshima, conscripted young men of various districts of rural places. Japanese houses
made of wood and paper, so concentrated, so vulnerable to fire that needed to create wide
fire breaks to preventing spread fire. Air raid of incendiary napalms bomb from the U.S. Air
forces impending. To prepare massive fire, they take forced evacuations. After people moved
to suburban area, left houses were need to destroy. But Japan had no bulldozer, needed
manpower but all young men conscripted to the final war stage , so, called voluntary labor

village’s member joined other district member, belonged to Kobu unit, combined from Jinsekis
and kumu. Their mission was houses distraction, sawed all house pillar 80% deep, and roped

you such busy time of war. You already know that injured people get severe blister from
atomic heat ray. I should noticed you please take care them gentry don’t put more pain to
those injured, brought them to their homes. The enemy used so-called new weapon Hiroshima’s
sky,killed several hundred innocent citizens, exposed shrieking agony, hell. According voluntary
corps men, they heard the voices and crying, from the bottom of the ground”, save me, help me”,
like ground swelling. Hiroshima’s next city,Hukuyama also completely destroyed,old castle
tower lost, entire city was turned to no man’s land, only burning.,What was War! How quell
war! My heart almost exploded. Anyway, War still continued, it is the fact. （続き）
During the war time, a wild rumor was strictly forbidden in a censorship law of the military,
and there was a feeling that the topic of conversation of other person should be avoided in
common. People watched each other, and circular notice organization and neighbors units
always behind people. After the end of the war, various rumors started to overflowed like a
broken dams, they talked the story of the bandit, the rumor of the robbery, the story of the
gambling, the story of the stock of the military, the story of one night nouveau riche, and the
rumor of occupation army, etc. But when times passed by, those rumors were faded away,
and finally oblivion from peoples memory.
The rumor about Yasuko should be according to that rules, but the rumor that she was in
the cooking region of the second Hiroshima junior high school service corps is still repeated
again, whenever there was a person coming to the making inquiries by a marriage proposal
of Yasuko .At fast, when on earth who would hit such a rumor, Shigematsu intended to find
out who is the person in the beginning.
