I guess it's up to you. one impressive advice my former boss gave me to improve english skills is "to never use dictionaries".
she was born and raised in hongkong and her english was excellent.
a half of myself can now understand what she meant but the other half still rejects her advice.
anyway, native english speakers usually grow up without dictionaries at least before going to elementary schools.
and 6 year-old kids have a good command of english and can speak fluently.
