Hey!!! All you NEETs, nerds, YouTube link spammers, pedophiles, neo-Nazis,
Yukorin enthusiasts, Nanako SOS admirers, Part-Time-Preachers,
Diplomats' spoiled sons, losers who can't remember Kanji characters,
Big-boobs fans, Weeaboo from around the world, learners of Japanese
who are too lazy to update their Japanese blogs very often, cunning
linguists, stupid fan girls of Johnny's Boys, Touhou pirates, and
that electrical super-gay who suffers from mental disease - This is your thread!
Let's hope the Internet-addicted housewife will come back soon!

We all wish for permanent world peace!

When I casually turned on the TV and watched Princess Kako giving a speach in English,
I found her speaking skills were not as fluent as returnee students'.
However, I love her English because such students sound like native English speakers, not Japanese.
Do you think I am partial to her?

Red fox and green tanuki noodles are very delicious. I especially like green tanuki.
They change tastes depending on the region of Japan.
People in the west of Japan like a little bit bland tastes and those in the east like strong taste.

On the /int/ board of 4chan there are plenty of Japanese posters.
https://boards.4chan.org/int/
There is also almost always a Japanese language thread here, and usually a Japanese learning thread (DJT)
https://boards.4chan.org/int/catalog#s=japanese
Sometimes in the Learn Japanese thread, Japanese people will ask for help with English, but aside from that there really aren't many people asking for help (with English)
Still, there are quite a decent number of Japanese posters on this board so you should chat if you want to!
I don't think that they are common on the other boards though.

This New York Times article includes a Japanese translation. This is the first time I saw it on the paper.
This is a good opportunity to compare my reading speed in Japanese and English.
It took me four times more time to read in English. Too slow...
I have to stick with dictionaries. I refer to them 20 times.

Keep it up, and you'll finally be able to speak hentai Japanese.
In my case, I just read doujinshi translated into hentai English too, thanks to darn translation commissions.
Since C94 took place last month, you can now see tons of new stuff on those sites that I just told you about.

Teaching Japanese in English is extremely difficult due to my lack of knowledge about Japanese and limitations in English.
Someone asks the difference between で and に like 家の近くに店が出来る and 家の近くで店が出来る.
We differentiate them instinctively, and thus don't know how to teach it.
So I have to look it up before teaching.

に describes a place where something exists and で describes a place where something is done.
So the former sentence is more natural.
But if we remove 家 from the sentences like 近くに店が出来る and 近くで店が出来る both become natural and only nuances change slightly.
The former emphasizes a place where a store is built while the latter focuses more on the fact that a store is built.

I'm thinking about writing this in another site but ceased to do it and instead write it in here for practicing English.
The site requires accurate explanations and decent English that alienates me...

plz tell me

this time i saw many times that serena williams was called as GOAT.
so i checked the meaning and found a answer.

"Sometimes people call the player who messes up to lose the game the goat.
But the GOAT that I mean is the Greatest of All Time: G-O-A-T.
So let’s find athletes competing these days who are the Greatest of all time at what they do.
Consider New York Yankees relief pitcher Mariano Rivera."

which meaning does this case be applied??

A girl pop group performed on TV last night. They consist of several nationals who speak some Japanese.
They remind me of the importance of precise pronunciation.
I though as long as you can communicate in the language your pronunciation is okay but it's not.
A accent makes communication difficult. I shouldn't be complacent about the present situation.

Now I begin to learn Chinese whose accent is vastly different from Japanese or English. This provides me with good opportunities to think about pronunciations.

I can relate to you. I want to improve my pronunciation too.; hopefully make it perfect even.
But I don't know that is necessarily the right attitude to take.
Just think about it. How much time and energy would it take to perfect your pronunciation, and by extention, to learn the A to Z of English idioms and phrasal verbs?
At leat 10,000 hours. Even more.
You also might have to learn to use English articles(a/the), modal verbs(can/will/may, etc) and so on.
And all of this is just to make it easier to communicate with NATIVE SPEAKERS, and native speakers only.
How unjust it is that we should dedicate thounsands of hours just to make them feel comfortable, not vice versa.
Besides, it's way too ridiculous to set your eyes on native speakers only, when there are tremendous numbers of English speakers out there whose mother tongue is not English.
You don't have to have native speaker's fluency to communicate with them. It is even possible that you might just baffle them with your native-like fluency.

I totally agree with you. It is a waste of time to be perfect so the target for non-native speakers should be near perfect.
Still, it takes a lot of time as you said.
The last night TV show makes me think about something that I have never cared about: pronunciation.
