4月21日、NHKホールにて、The Street Slidersのツアー
『40th Anniversary Final The Street Sliders 「Thank You!」』の
東京公演が行われた。本稿ではそのオフィシャルレポートを掲載する。

2023年4月28日の豊洲PITと5月3日の日本武道館でのワンマン
『The Street Sliders　Hello!!』。同年8月11日に行われた北海道の
『RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL 2023 in EZO』への出演。
同年9月1日の三郷市文化会館～10月26日大阪フェスティバルホールの
『The Street Sliders TOUR 2023 「ROCK’N’ROLL」』（全7本）──。

デビュー40周年の節目に2000年の解散以来22年ぶりに再集結して、
The Street Slidersが行ったそれらのライブ活動の締めくくりとなるツアーが
『40th Anniversary Final The Street Sliders 「Thank You!」』であり、
その最終日がこのNHKホールである。
このツアーは、3月6日の立川ステージガーデンから4月21日のNHKホールまでの
全8本が発表されたが、後日4月6日の日比谷野外大音楽堂公演も発表された。
WOWOWで生中継されたこの日比谷野音のステージ本編のラスト3曲は、
3人のホーン隊が加わった特別編成による演奏だった。

最終日であるこのNHKホールは、HARRY（村越弘明）の「ハロー！」
という叫びとギターリフで始まる「SLIDER」でスタート。
このツアーは、ほとんどの場所では同曲で始まったが、
4月12日沖縄ミュージックタウン音市場のように「あんたがいないよる」
で始まった日もあった。

ライブ前半は、「おかかえ運転手にはなりたくない」「Angel Duster」
「Let’s go down the street」「のら犬にさえなれない」と、
歴代のミドル～スローな曲が並ぶ構成。ZUZU（鈴木将雄）の
破裂するようなスネアで始まり、蘭丸（土屋公平）のファズギターが響く
「Angel Duster」、後半でHARRY→蘭丸とギターソロを継いでいく
「Dancin’ Doll」など、どの曲もイントロが鳴った瞬間と曲が終わる瞬間に、
大歓声と大拍手が超満員の客席から湧き上がる。
「すれちがい」と「ありったけのコイン」、初期と中期を代表する、
歌い手の視点が対照的なスローチューン2曲で、そのオーディエンスの興奮は、
一度目のピークを迎えた。

そして、約1年にわたる、The Street Slidersデビュー40周年の活動の最後の曲に
なったのは「風の街に生まれ」。この曲が発表された1989年でも、
2024年の現在においても、スライダーズらしい、言わば「投げやりな力強さ」
に満ちたこの歌を、NHKホールを埋めた全員が口ずさみ、この日のライブは、
いや、The Street Sliders40周年プロジェクトは終わった。

終演SEが流れるなか、4人は横一列に並び、つないだ手を二度挙げて挨拶してから、ステージを下りた。

そして、今ここにいるファンもいないファンも含めて、この1年の間にライブに参加した
全員に、チケットのプレイガイドを通じて、メールで「THE STREET SLIDERS
40th Anniversary Completed! Thank you so much」というメッセージと、
4人のサインを贈った。

HARRYの使っていた76年のFirebirdはHARRYソロの
ライブDVD｢Type｣でのら犬で使っていましたこのDVDが今となっては
レア物で簡単には入手出来ませんが実際に本人が弾いてたギターをこれから

今回の再集結でよーくわかったのは、蘭丸のギターの「タメ」がいかに重要だったかってこと　同じようなリフやフレーズを弾いていてもタイム感やタメが違う　こればっかりは理論や理屈じゃないんで説明は難しいんだけどわかってくれる人はいると思う

自分はスライダーズの曲の違う側面や魅力を知ることができたと思ってるよ
リフやフレーズはかなり踏襲してくれてたけど、真壁さんの個性も出ていてよかった

その通り。マカベさんもモノホンのプロだから当然自分のタイムで自分のサウンドを出す。かつ、その中で蘭丸への深いリスペクトを感じる良いステージだったと思う。物足りないとか欠けてるなんてこたぁ無かったけどねえ。
