以下の俺の書いた英文の方が、"Could not 馬鹿"の書いた英文より
ネイティブっぽいことが分かって、くやしくて狂ってるよ。

俺の英文

で、 "was taking an English conversation lesson"でぐぐってヒットは
Could not馬鹿のだけ。以下は検討する価値もない。

＞I could not make myself understood in English.
＞は正直言って変な英文。
＞何がおかしいかというとcould
＞couldはもし過去を表わすために使っているのならおかしい。
＞普通はcouldは仮定法なんだ。
＞だからこれだと「自分の言ってることを英語で理解させられないだろう。」
＞という意味で捉えられてしまう。
＞I wasn't able to make myself understood in English.とすべき。

こいつが持ってるアンカー英和の記述

＞スーパーアンカーの記述
＞可能性の否定は実現できなかったことと同じになるので
＞「…することができなかった」には、could not do, was [were] not able to、
＞was [were] unable to do のいずれも用いられる
could notは慣用句ないし文脈、文自体に仮定法を暗示するものがなければ
仮定法とはならない。
