I think it's great to build one's esteem in Toastmasters. But, it seems to me that an awful lot of members utilize Toastmasters as their major source of self-worth, or even use it like religion. When you hear of some members holding memberships in 4 or 5 clubs, doesn't that make you wonder if it's a healthy thing?
For some, it seems Toastmasters IS their religion.
I'm sure some members' faces are turning red reading this post, and smoke is coming out of many people's ears. If this is the case for you, could it be that your personal investment in Toastmasters is too great?
2017 World Champion of Public Speaking, Manoj Vasudevan（https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_alq6yYbpc） What a shame to imitate Dhananjaya Hettiarachchi !! This story is lame! I almost fell asleep! I don't know how the hell this became 1st!!
2016 World Champion of Public Speaking, Darren Tay Wen Jie（https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v26CcifgEq4） Not saying that he is not good. He is indeed a good speaker. but to me this is not a world championship speech. Not a wow. Its something that we always see at even club or area levels.
2012 World Championship of Public Speaking: Trust is a Must（https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ReE7-X70iPU） I feel the hand gestures are way too much . Toastmaster needs to be a bit more about public speaking and less about acting or acrobats
Takaさま。いつも応援をありがとうございます。おっしゃるように、今回は新しいことへのチャレンジでした。 いちばんの動機は、世界大会でWorld Championship of Public Speakingで毎年チャンピオンが誕生しますが、 彼らが「World Champion of Public Speaking」にふさわしいスピーチをしているんだろうか？
