A resurfaced interview she gave to an online talk show back in 2015 is causing public outrage in Japan.

"I was asked about LGBT education in schools. I said of course there's no need for such a thing."

Although same-sex partnerships are legal in some parts of the country, public anti-LGBT sentiments are not uncommon.

Ms Sugita, 51, a member of prime minister Shinzo Abe’s ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP),
argued that “these men and women don’t bear children – in other words, they are ‘unproductive’”.

“There were clear errors on her part as a woman; drinking that much in front of a man and losing her memory,”
said Mio Sugita, who added. “With things like this I think men are the ones who suffer significant damage.”

Japanese politician Mio Sugita has made international news due to her anti-LGBTQ comments on a television show.
The program is co-hosted by Koichi Sugiyama, who composes music for the Dragon Quest games.
日本の政治家である杉田水脈がTV番組で行った反LGBTQ発言は、世界的なニュースになった。
このTV番組の共同司会者は「ドラゴンクエスト」の作曲者、すぎやまこういちだ。

This isn’t in the above clip, but when saying that tax dollars shouldn’t go to gay couples, Sugita added,
“This isn’t discrimination. This is differentiation.” (“Sabestsu jyanai desuyo ne. Kubetsu nan desu.”)
Sugiyama chimed in, “[It’s] differentiation.” (“Kubetsu.”)

“Sugita’s idiocy on LGBT rejected by society but not the LDP.” Sugita is a member of the LDP, or Liberal Democratic Party,
which isn’t liberal, but rather, the country’s conservative ruling party.

That might explain why he appears on a network that previously came under fire for a documentary claiming the Nanking Massacre did not happen.

saying she wants to be a refugee to get a better life at 'the expense of someone else'.

The original image was snapped by a British photographer Jonathan Hyams for Save The Children at a refugee camp in Lebanon.
写真のオリジナルはレバノンの難民キャンプでイギリス人写真家の Jonathan Hyams が児童支援の活動のために撮影したものだ。
But Hasumi turned it into the cartoon which has caused widespread outrage in her home country.

Ms Hasumi told BBC Trending that the petition is a witch hunt by left-wing activists who have a vendetta against her .
She said: "I draw many political mangas [Japanese comics] which are not favourable to them. "This is why they targeted me."

Instead, she made another insult against all Islamic refugees in which she argued that all children in refugee camps will become ISIS militants.
It's hard to understand, but this 40 year old woman seemed to have been thinking that this would be some kind of excuse.
It's certain that it's no use discussing with such dumb trolls.
