If I get the time to look up words and write my thoughts down instead of speaking them then I can form quite coherent sentences, but if I need to speak in real life then I'll often pick the wrong words, speak casually when I should be speaking politely and vice versa, screw up the tenses, or just sound like an idiot in general.
Do you also feel like you just can't use half the vocabulary you supposedly know? Like, I know around 8000 Japanese words at this point, but a lot of words I'd only ever recognize and would never use on the spot even if they would be the most appropriate. For example, I recognize the word 涼しい when I see it, but I've never actually used it when it would have been appropriate. Instead my mind jumps to スッキリ even if it would be grammatically incorrect or sound weird in context. 0100名無しさん@英語勉強中 (アウアウオー Sa1f-BPVE)2017/11/24(金) 04:02:25.72ID:HlXiMKfUa Don't forget everybody speaking incorrect japanese and that's enough for do almost all. 0101名無しさん@英語勉強中 (ワッチョイWW 5fa3-9d8p)2017/11/24(金) 05:05:33.58ID:n6xoc0PQ0 It is interesting to know you confuse スッキリ with 涼しい. I love its rhythm, its unique vocabulary, the comedians that speak it, and the speakers themselves are usually really fun people to be around. I want to learn to speak something like it too, but I know that "general Kansai dialect" isn't a thing, so I need to learn which dialect has the features I like the most and start focusing on that one. 0146名無しさん@英語勉強中 (ワンミングク MM3f-t4k1)2017/11/24(金) 19:08:02.85ID:6d7/tuxsM I guess you need another message board for your unlimited desire. Of these, A guy who can speak Yamagata accent is so funny. I like him. I cannot recall his name though. Kansai accent also sounds funny to Tokyoite that I am. 0148名無しさん@英語勉強中 (ワッチョイ 678d-5mWG)2017/11/24(金) 19:24:54.12ID:6fsyRplb0 I really wish this retard would fuck off and die. He's a fighter. But his temper was not suitable for a yokozuna, I guess. 0154名無しさん@英語勉強中 (AUW 0H3f-3rsG)2017/11/24(金) 20:21:03.97ID:AQHwxGVgH @152. Agreed. Even among us all. Some are lefty, others are righty. Otherwise there would not be that many nouns. Btw. Why is it that some of us tend to look down on other Asians ? I guess you can answer my stupid question in no time. 0155名無しさん@英語勉強中 (ワッチョイW 07be-tbal)2017/11/24(金) 20:26:52.92ID:/TBUCuHA0 no. the victim (takanoiwa) went zyungyo(巡業) after the trouble and won the match. everyone there didnt confirm his wound (including me watched the VTR). so what i doubt about is why harumafuji's affair reported exaggerately and wrongly. all i want to expel is not individual like harumafuji nor takanohana, but the corrupt structure of sumo association(相撲協会) itself. 0156名無しさん@英語勉強中 (AUW 0H3f-3rsG)2017/11/24(金) 20:27:04.61ID:34DEoC/jH @153. What if there were some bullying because they are minorities ? Being an outsider is not as easy as we can imagine, 0160名無しさん@英語勉強中 (ワッチョイ 5f24-KEHB)2017/11/24(金) 20:52:51.06ID:iQlknfjG0 I don't like Japanese accent in English, even though I also speak in that way. They tend to speak very flatly with no intonation, and influenced by the first language greatly. This make them very hard to understand. I am used to listen to other accents such as lndian's or Filipino's because they broadcast news on a daily basis, but have less opportunities to be exposed by Japanse accent. This makes things worse especially when I have to be interviewed by Japanese who has strong accent. 0161名無しさん@英語勉強中 (ワッチョイ 7fcf-5mWG)2017/11/24(金) 20:56:21.32ID:i53mHglk0>>159 you are unfamiliar with Japanese somo much? there is not bullying due to being minority in japanese sumo world 0162名無しさん@英語勉強中 (ワッチョイW 07be-tbal)2017/11/24(金) 21:00:01.92ID:/TBUCuHA0>>161 why you can assert like that? dont you know the word "kawaigari" ?
