江川の本のmy ownなどの項目に書いているownの使い方は様々だ。代名詞としての
own, 代名詞の所有格としてのown等。英和辞典を見ないとそういうのがわからないんだな。
人称代名詞　C my ownなど
one's own: 独特の、特有の;　I have my own room/ I have a room of my own
Each science has its own terminology
all one's own: 独特の; The mineral has a quality all its own.
on one's own: 一人で; live on one's own

再び読み始めたけど辞書引かずにわからんかったら訳を見ればいいていどにして読むことにした。
覚えようとか思わない。普通に読むだけ。
police は集合名詞。集合名詞によっては動詞を単数形にするやつも有れば,
常に複数形扱いするのもある。前置詞+抽象名詞が名詞を修飾するものもあれば、
叙述用法の形容詞というものもある。
また動詞を修飾するものである場合もある。
since とかス、ズで終わるもので、副詞的属格というのも出てきた。与格と対格がよくわからない。
